Strategy Sprint is a series of five workshops designed to take a group of leaders through brainstorming and making decisions as a group about company's strategy. It was created by AJ&Smart, a Berlin agency and a leader in workshop facilitation and education.
Strategy Sprint takes five days for the leadership team and about 3 weeks for the facilitator to prep and execute.
Strategy Sprint is can be held in person and remotely. If managed remotely, strategy sprints require online whiteboarding tools such as Miro or Mural and a conference tool such as Zoom.
Strategy Sprint is great for general business strategy, product strategy, as well as business pillars strategy. It has also been used to set the strategy of individual departments and large projects. It works well for any entity that has a horizon of one year and has autonomy of setting up its guiding principles and initiatives. For smaller teams certain parts of the sprint can be removed and the sprint can be shortened.
The word "sprint" refers to a set period of time in which the leadership team works on setting the strategy. Research and data gathering happen before the sprint to inform the decisions that take place in the sprint. Execution also takes time after the initial sprint to design the strategy.
